Hola,
My names David, I'm in my mid forties, and have dabbled with cigars smoking for over 25 years.
I've smoked many a stick over that time, from gorgeous Cohibas and lovely Romeos, down to stinky horrible dried out corner shop panatellas.
As an ex cigarette smoker, I was always amazed at the amazing flavours and real sensuality of smoking a good cigar, compared to the rough and ready nicotine hit of a foul tasting Marlboro.
It's really feels like the difference between drinking vintage port and white lightining Cider.
After a wonderful honeymoon in the Dominican Republic, and my first run in with fake Cohibas!,I settled on smoking Romeo y Juliettas as my Cuban choice, and Josel L Piedras as my non Cuban cheap and cheerful choice.
Along the way I've been gifted quite a few Cubans of various brands and also smoked a lot of absolute horrors from various parts of the world.
I'm in my mid forties now and although I have quite a few hobbies, and after being gifted a gorgeous Trinidad at a evening out realised I would really like to get into smoking cigars on a regular basis.
I hope I can communicate the pitfalls and pleasures that befall me as I start out and hope it helps others in the same position.
Please feel free to suggest or comment but please be gentle to this novice smoker & blogger!
Salud!
